Dr. Steve Nestor - Senior Pastor
E-mail Dr. Steve

Is a native of West Virginia.  From age 3, along with his brother and two sisters, were raised in the Parkersburg First Church of the Nazarene. (WV)  His very first pastor was Dr. H. Harvey Hendershot who later became the District Superintendent.  Later, his pastor was Dr. John Hay, who would go on to be the District Superintendent of the Indianapolis District.

As a child, he was an active member of the Sunday School, NYPS (NYI) and Summer Youth Camp programs.  He was anything but the "perfect" teenager.  As an adult, bad choices would lead down the darken paths of sin.   Pastor Steve has "been there, done that." and knows personally the consequences of sin.  He is a veteran of the Vietnam/Grenada eras, and a former investigator with the U.S. Department of Health, Centers for Disease Control, with almost a 10 years federal service.

Dr. Steve attended West Virginia University, Mount Vernon Nazarene University, and is a graduate of Almeda University, having earned his Bachelor's Degree in Theology, and Master's of Divinity (M. Div)  He also earned his Doctor of Ministry (D. Min) from Newburgh Theological Seminary, graduating Summa Cum Laude, in June 2009.

Among his accomplishments in ministry: He was appointed a Kentucky Colonel by the Governor of Kentucky (97'), and was the founding pastor/director of The Open Door Ministries, a full service food kitchen during his first pastorate in New Martinsville, WV. (98)  This ministry currently feeds more than 600 each week.  He also completed the Billy Graham School of Evangelism, (01'), and was awarded the General Superintendent's Church Growth Award for 2007.  In addition, he was honored by the Glasgow Volunteer Fire Department with a Community Service Award  (08')., for his service as a Volunteer Chaplain and was chosen by Gov. Joe Manchin as an Alternate Ambassdor for the State of West Virginia. (09')

He is married to his lovely wife and partner in ministry, Bonnie and they have two grown children and two rapidly growing grandsons, Logan and Reilly who reside in North Carolina.
